The Current Stats!

The Current hardware configuration at the K8SN Repeater is as follows:

  • LOCATION: The Repeater is located approximately 16 Miles South of Grand Rapids MI
  • EXCITER/AMPLIFIER: Motorola Mitrek Exciter interfaced to a retired 300W Paging Amp running 125W on 442.175 Mhz. (103.5Hz PL)
  • RECEIVERS: Tactec TAC310SX on 447.175 Mhz (103.5Hz CTCSS).  Also on each Link channel from the remotes
  • POWER SUPPLY: 25A Newmar Switcher
  • CONTROLLER: FF-Systems Inc. FF-800 with FF-CAD 500ms Audio Delay Board and companion FF-8070 Digital Voice Recorder System.
  • DUPLEXER SYSTEM: Main Receiver is connected to a 445-449 Mhz Multi-Coupler consisting of a DCI 8 Pole pass filter and a DB Products 4 port amp/splitter. - Transmitter is combined with others.
  • ANTENNA SYSTEM: RX 16 Bay UHF Folded Dipole at 540' TX is a 3db Fiberglass at 490'
  • REMOTE BASE: Doug Hall Electronics RB-1, Kenwood TM-241A, Two Bay folded Dipole at 190', DCI and PAR Electronics Filters to eliminate Intermod.
  • OTHER OPTIONS: Doug Hall Electronics 4RV System 8 Channels - IRLP Node 4168
  • REMOTE RECIEVER ELECTRONICS AND OTHER MISC. FACTS: Remote sites are Motorola Mitreks Listening on 447.175Mhz and retranmitting on one of the link channels back to the Moline Site. These site average about 1 to 5 W output into either a 6 or 11 elment Beams. Duplexed from the Remote Base Antenna at 190' into a cell wave shape factor filter - Passing a "band" of channels and rejecting the Transmitter.  Allows for lower power link-back tranmitters at the remote sites. The above are fed into a TX/RX Preamp fed to a 8 Port Splitter.
